The renovations were completed on 4 September 2020. Local residents were invited to participate in planning and make suggestions for ideas they would like to see in the Market Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Johann-Nepomuk-Vogl\u00a0Platz\u00a0\u00a0#7 is home to a Farmers Market where fresh regional products are sold on Saturdays from 8 to 12 a.m. There are also a number of market stands selling flowers and foods products. Several shops have sidewalk Cafes with seating areas for consumers. \u00a0The office of landscape Architects  Karl Grimm was responsible for remodeling the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0A number of trees were planted and plants were hung on walls to green the areas and create shade.\u00a0\u00a0Accessible public toilets and trash collection bins were moved to one end of the square creating open space for persons of all ages to meet, relax, and stay cool.\u00a0A play area for children, a table tennis area, and a cooling area were created. A public bookcase with used books that can be shared or taken for free was installed. Various types of consumer free seating were provided.\u00a0\u00a0The #42 tram stations were relocated closer to the Market square.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The planning process began in 2016 which was called \u201dProject Kiosk\u201d was sponsored by the\u00a0district regional (Bezirk)\u00a0and the city urban renewal departments. (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gbstern.at\/west\/\" target=\"_blank\">Geb<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gbstern.at\/themen-projekte\/da-tut-sich-was-am-vogl-markt\/\" target=\"_blank\">ietsbetreuung<\/a>). Over 300 ideas were collected from local residents on how to improve the market place and surrounding area. I visited the Market Square in September 2020 when, due to Covid 19 restrictions the cafes were closed. Only \u201c take away\u201d food was available from the restaurant stands. I appreciated the convenience of the near by consumer free seating options. As the weather was warm, more shade in the seating areas would have been desirable. I was able to navigate around the water park to cool off and to avoid getting wet. More information on this project can be found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wien.gv.at\/bezirke\/waehring\/wirtschaft-wohnen\/johann-nepomuk-vogl-platz-neu.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Das Marktplatzprojekt auf dem Johann-Nepomuk-Vogl\u00a0Platz\u00a0#7 in W\u00e4hring: ein altersgerechter und umweltfreundlicher Treffpunkt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Wiener Stadtverwaltung hat unl\u00e4ngst diesen Platz als EU gef\u00f6rdertes Projekt umgestaltet. Die Erneuerungen waren am 4. September 2020 abgeschlossen wobei Anrainer*innen und Besucher*innen vorher eingeladen waren die\u00a0Planung mitzugestalten und zu sagen, wie sie sich den Marktplatz vorstellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf dem Johann-Nepomuk-Vogl-Platz #7 ist am Samstag von 08.00- 12.00 Uhr ein Bauernmarkt untergebracht mit regionalem frischen Obst und Gem\u00fcse. Auch \u201cStandln\u201d\u00a0\u00a0gibt es dort wo Blumen verkauft werden. Ausserdem\u00a0\u00a0gibt es Schanig\u00e4rten mit Sitzgelegenheiten f\u00fcr G\u00e4ste vor den Gesch\u00e4ften. Verantwortlich f\u00fcr die Umgestaltung des Platzes war das B\u00fcro \u201cLandscape Architects\u201d von Karl Grimm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Etliche B\u00e4ume wurden gesetzt und Pflanzen wurden an den W\u00e4nden angebracht um den Platz zu begr\u00fcnen und Schatten zu spenden. Frei zug\u00e4ngliche \u00f6ffentliche Toiletten wurden aufgestellt\u00a0\u00a0und die Mistcontainer\u00a0\u00a0wurden auf nur eine Seite verfrachtet um so mehr Raum f\u00fcr Leute jeden Alters zu haben,\u00a0die sich auf einer vergr\u00f6\u00dferten Freifl\u00e4che erholen, treffen und kennenlernen k\u00f6nnen. Es gibt auch einen Kinderspielplatz und\u00a0\u00a0Tischtennisplatz. \u201ccool off areas\u201d, K\u00fchlzonen wurden geschaffen. Es wurden WLAN und Strom bereitgestellt, um Kinos, Konzerte oder sonstige Veranstaltungen m\u00f6glich zu machen. Neue Radst\u00e4nder und eine Ladestation f\u00fcr elektrische Autos wurden anschliessend an den Platz aufgestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spr\u00fchregenbrunnen wurden montiert f\u00fcr die unmittelbare Erfrischung der Leute am Platz sowie um die B\u00e4ume und Pflanzen mit recyceltem Wasser aus dem Boden zu versorgen! Ein \u201coffener B\u00fccherschrank\u201d wurde aufgestellt und von dort kann man B\u00fccher kostenfrei entnehmen und auch welche hinein stellen. Es wird darauf geachtet, dass es gen\u00fcgend Parkb\u00e4nke und\u00a0\u00a0Sessel gibt, wo man nichts gegen Bezahlung konsumieren muss. Die Stationen der Strassenbahnlinie #42 wurde n\u00e4her an den Park verlegt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Planung des Vorhabens mit dem Namen \u201cProjekt\u00a0Kiosk\u201d wurde 2016 begonnen und vom Bezirksamt und der <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gbstern.at\/themen-projekte\/da-tut-sich-was-am-vogl-markt\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gebietsbetreuung Wien<\/a> gef\u00f6rdert und gemeinsam mit Anrainer*innen umgesetzt. Es wurden \u00fcber 300 Ideen der Anrainer*innen und Platzbesucher*innen gesammelt, wie der Park und die umliegenden Zonen zuk\u00fcnftig aussehen sollten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich besuchte den Park im Septemer 2020 und nat\u00fcrlich waren wegen der Pandemie alle Cafes geschlossen. Mir hat aber die M\u00f6glichkeit des \u201ctake away\u201d &#8211; Systems sehr gut gefallen wo man an den Gastronomietischen und St\u00e4nden das Essen abholen und auf den nahen Sitzgelegenheiten konsumieren konnte. Weil es aber noch ziemlich heiss war w\u00e4ren noch mehr Schattenpl\u00e4tze\u00a0gut gewesen, aber ich konnte nahe an der\u00a0K\u00fchlzone vorbeigehen ohne nass zu werden. Ich habe Familien, Kinder und\u00a0\u00a0\u00e4ltere Personen beobachtet, die im Park gegessen sind, geplaudert, gespielt oder einfach gechillt, d.h. \u201cmit der Seele gebaumelt haben\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dieses Projekt ist ein gutes Beispiel f\u00fcr die Stadtplanung unter der Teilnahme des Bezirks f\u00fcr die Nutzung \u00f6ffentlichen Raumes f\u00fcr Personen jeglichen Alter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(\u00dcbersetzung: Ilse J.
